Wanted By the Devil

Wanted By the Devil by Joanna BlakeWanted By the Devil by Joanna Blake

Honestly, I don’t know why I still judge books by their cover. I think it’s a bad habit that I really need to break. But come on how much of us say we’ll stop doing this or stop eating that but thats exactly what we end up doing next. It’s only human nature.

Now if you’re going into this book thinking it’s a bad ass biker book then news flash! It’s not! Don’t get me wrong the book was a good read but comparing to the other MC biker books I’ve read before this one is a child’s play. And that’s my opinion.

So the hero is the president of the MC and he’s obsessed with the heroine whose a waitress. The first time he saw her he knew she had to be his but the only thing stopping him was her age. Yes, you guessed it, she was younger than him. So he did the logical thing and waited for her to become of age to make her his.

The heroine works at the diner to help out her mom who is a single parent. From the time she began working at the diner she would hear the throttling of bikes following her everywhere she went. And for some reason that comfort her. She knew that those bikers following her was all sent by the hero who made it his priority to alteast visit her once a week at the diner ordering the same thing but never really speak to her.

Then one night when the hero had waited long enough he finally went after what he so desperately wanted all these years.

My Thoughts;

  • Let’s talk about the fact that the hero was basically a stalker and the heroine had some kind of Stockholm Syndrome for him, althought technically there was no kid napping involved. Like who throws themself to a guy who basically stalked them for years? Was she that much desperate for any guy’s attention?
  • What irritated me the most was the hero who swore that the heroine was “the one” had a revolving door of women in and out of his life while he “waited” on the heroine to become of age. He made it up in his mind that that was okay since about a month before he officially made the heroine his he stopped sleeping with anyone. Like really?
  • Oh! And lets not talk about the fact the mother basically made a deal with the hero behind the heroine’s back when she was young marking her as his. She technically sold her daughter for the betterment of herself.
  • And the heroine showed trully how young she was by being such a winy character. I wanted to slap the shit out of her so much time!

Thank you so much for reading my review. Please make sure you pre-order my book “Never Forget You” on Amazon

Unload (Black Cossacks MC)

Unload (Black Cossacks MC) By Kathryn Thomas Unload (Black Cossacks MC) By Kathryn Thomas

I’m mixed about how I feel after reading this book. I’m not sure I would call this book a bad boy MC book because to me it was neither. It was more of a good boy being trapped in a bad boy’s body just begging to let go. The heroine on the other hand, acted like a total biker babe although she was not. Talk about role reversible.

The heroine whose personality I adored, was rudely awaken by the sound of rowdy bikers outside her apartment duplex. Being apart of the apartment’s association, it was her job to make the complex a peaceful place and the past couple nights were interrupt with the bikers commotion outside. Having a head strong personality and completely fed up, the heroine pushed her head out her window and yelled some words of profanity hoping atleast someone would take her seriously but they just pass her off as just some girl.

Annoyed, she packs a bag to head over her friend’s house to sleep the rest of the night but was confronted with the biker gang on her way out. Not the type to be taken for granted because she was petite, she heads over to the hero, who was the president of his MC and expressed how she felt.

The hero who was in the middle of a drug exchange with another MC wasn’t in the mood to handle the heroine’s fiery spirit but her fierceness attracts her to him. However, their meeting was short cut by the cops showing up. Having no where to hide the drugs on him he quickly stashed it in the heroine’s over night bag knowing that the cops would never search someone who looks as innocent as her, especially since she was still in her pjs.

The next day he shows up back at her apartment for the drugs which the heroine was mad that he stashed it on her without her knowing. The hero promises her he can make it up to her and I’m sure you can guess how. After however long it took them to get their rocks off, the heroine went her way and he went his but for some reason the hero as still hung up on her. Days later and he was still looking at his phone hoping she would text him and wondering when did the roles became reversed with him and the ladies. After an encounter with her boss which the hero saves her from, they became inseparable. And that ladies and gentlemen was the start of their relationship. As we all know being apart of a MC comes with the rivalry and having a significant other was a big vulnerability.

Want to know what happens? You’ll just her to read it yourself 😉

My Thoughts;

  • Like I said before, the author failed to portray they hero was a bad boy. He was such as sweetheart towards the heroine and I loved that he was willing to sacrifice his freedom for the safety of the heroine.
  • The heroine was bad ass with her words. I love a female role who is not a doormat and rolls over like a dog whenever the hero says so.
  • This book was also marked off as a good read beacuse of the fact that althoug the hero didnt hear back from the heroin after their first night together, he didn’t bury himself in some other woman.
  • The only thing I didn’t like was the chemistry. I didn’t feel much between the hero and the heroine. I thought they were just with each other for a booty call.

Satan’s Son MC Boxset (Book 3)

Reapers's Redemption (Satan's Son MC#3) Simone EliseReapers’s Redemption (Satan’s Son MC#3) By Simone Elise

I did the review for book 1 and 2 for this boxset and like I said in the previous review, I would advise to read the first two before reading this review. All the books are connected and each book cannot be read as a standalone.

After some contemplation on my previous reviews, I think I may have made some mix up somewhere along the line. Since I read the entire boxset in one sitting it seemed as one very long storyline to me and I cannot remember 100% what happened in each book. I must say however, that the last two books in this series was very long and had more than one storyline.

But I definitely remembered that book 3 had some triggers for readers who are sensitive to certain dark themed books.

The heroine had not too long give birth to her and the hero’s baby when she was kidnapped by one of the hero’s rival who he accidentally killed his wife (wrong place at the wrong time). The hero was furious and he tried everything to get her back but throughout this book he struggles with finding her, his position with the MC and being a father.

In her time being kidnapped, the heroine faces with some events that is not easy on anyone. Her kidnapper plays a game of Russian Roulette with her and by the time the hero saves her, she feels she’s damaged beyond repair with all the things she had to go through.

My Thoughts

  • This book shows you how the hero and the heroine’s relationship changed. It’s no longer a dysfunctional one but it became more stable. I guess thats what marriage and kids do to you. It makes you more mature.
  • I loved that the heroine’s twin sister stepped up into mother role despite what happened to her when she was 18. I’m also pleased that eventhough he heroine was not there she still looked out for her husband.
  • I felt that the author began getting very tedious in the last two books.
  • This book really messed me up. I hated that I wasnt told from the beginning that there was triggers involved. I honestly thought it was a normal MC biker book. Boy was I in for a surprise.
  • The author did a terrible way of showing the hero’s and the heroine’s relationship. I don’t think they even had a relationship to begin with. They were off more than on.

Because of the events that happened to the heroine I’m force not rate this badly.

Satan’s Son MC Boxset (Book 2)

Reaper's Rival (Satan's Son MC #2) By Simone EliseReaper’s Rival (Satan’s Son MC #2) By Simone Elise
I did the review for book 1 last Wednesday, so if you are interested in reading it I’ll put the link Here. I would also advise anyone curious, to read that review first since the Boxset storyline is all connected and the books cannot be read as a standalone.

I must say the first half of this book left me with mixed emotions and the other half annoyed me to death. Hence, the decline in the rating for this book compared to book 1.

This book does not pick up directly after where Book 1 ends rather a couple months later. At the ending of book 1, the heroine wakes up disappointedly alone in bed after what she thought would be the start of something great with the hero. Annoyed that he treated her like another notch on his bed post she leaves devastated and something fundamentally inside for her changed after that.

The hero however did not leave her alone, like she thought but started planning for their future together. He made alot of sacrifices in order for them to be together but due to some unfortunate events, the heroine gave him the cold shoulder and completely shut him out.

The heroine and her twin sister did a complete swap in this book where the heroine became the one out partying all hours of the night and her sister stays home and surprisingly have a steady boyfriend. The heroine moves on with a guy who she doesn’t really develop any feeling for but they have a “friends with benefit” thing going on. Surprisingly, one day when she emerges from the bedroom she sees the hero in her new boo thing’s house and was more than shocked to find out that they are brothers.

One thing led to another and they were able to sort out the unfortunate event that led to be spilt and they became a “couple”. Notice I put couple in uplifted commas? Well that’s because they have to hide their relationship from her father, who is the president of the MC and for some stupid reason he does not want to commit to the heroine. If that’s not a red flag than I don’t know what is.

The rest of the book involves a bunch of “I don’t want to be with you”…”lets be together”…”We’re breaking up”….”We’re together” and that shit annoyed to crap out of me.

My Thoughts

  • The heroine is an idot for letting a guy change who is she. She had to ability to have a better life than a biker princess and one stupid night with the hero changed her.
  • At the beginning of this book, I had a soft heart for the hero because of all the sacrifices he made for the heroine. If she wasnt a self centered bitch than they could have lived happily ever after.
  • And again, I hated the heroin’s father for always breaking them apart. I totally understand that he wanted better for his daughter but he should be happy that atleast she’s with someone who is more than capable of looking after her and that she is happy with him.
  • I loved that you get to see the heroine and her sister finally being sisters and begin to bond.
  • The hero did something within this book that left me disappointed with and to me the heroine forgave him too easily. Her action showed me that she was such a pushover and a doormat to ther actions the hero.

Satan’s Son MC Boxset (Book 1)

I came across this boxset while going through my facebook. I know, I know, who uses facebook anymore, right? Well I do. I immediately purchased it from Amazon Kindle because I love a good MC book and I was in the mood for some bad biker boy romance. I was shocked however by this book. I can’t really come to grips on whether I like this boxset or not. Its been about 2-3 days since I read it and up to now I don’t know how I should rate it. I thought, given some days after I read it would have given me time to ponder on the story line but I’m still clueless; maybe by the time I finish this review I would decide on how I feel about it.

Reaper's Claim Simone Elise
Reaper’s Claim (Satan’s Son MC#1) By Simone Elise

Rather than doing one big review, I’ll be doing three separate ones for each book in the boxset. Each book, however is the continuance of the other and cannot be read as a standalone.

In book 1, we are intoduced to the heroine at the age of 16. Not only is the heroine the daughter of the MC’s President but she also have an identical twin sister. Like most twins she is the opposite of her sister. Where her sister is loud, social and sleeps around, she is off by herself locked away in her room painting having no interest in boys whatsoever.

The hero is the VP of another charter and meets the heroine one night when he was at one of her father’s get together. He saves her from a case of mistaken identity when her sister’s boyfriend tries to rape her. And what’s even more messed up is the fact that her sister’s boyfriend is their father’s VP. So not only is he sleeping with the president’s daughter but she’s also a minor, which is a big no,no for me.

So after the hero saves her, they end of leaving the party and going elsewhere enjoying each others company. The heroine, immediately felt a connection with the hero and he himself could not ignore the sparks. But he knows to himself like any decent man would that she is underage. He leaves the next morning not knowing when they would ever get to see each other again.

Fast forward two years later and the twins are celebrating their 18th birthday and the heroine’s sister wanted to throw a big birthday bash. The hero is now the president of his charter and decides to crash their birthday bash, remembering the night that left him wanting more than he should, but now she’s legal.

The heroine, being the antisocial person she was spent her birthday locked away in her room since she did not agree with her sister to throw a party. She was surprised however, when there was a knock on her door and she she opened it there was the hero. Wanting her not to spend her birthday by herself the hero takes her out where they enjoyed another night together.

Come the next morning her entire life changes. Wanting to hold on to the only thing that made any sense to her, she finally sleeps with the hero and she thought that everything would be okay. When she wakes up from spending the night in the hero’s arm she’s disappointed to see that he had left her like she meant nothing to him.

My Thoughts

  • The author did a great job in writing this book and there was no plot that was left hanging.
  • I hated both the heroine’s twin sister and her father. Her twin sister was a brat that needed to own up to her own faults and stop dragging her sister behind her. Their father claims that he knows everthing about them but he ends up being the last person to know about anything going on in there lives. I understand that to him, his first priority is the club but he needs to realize that as a single father of girls they needed to come first no matter what.
  • I adored the hero in this book, although at the ending I was diasppointed with his actions after sleeping with the heroine.
  • I felt that the heroine should’ve moved on on her own the moment she reached 18. She is capable of becoming so much more that a biker princess.
  • Book 1 was a good read.
  • Cliffhanger alert!

Bad Boy’s Treat

Amy love arc Bad Boy’s Treat By Amy Love

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. I tried looking for it on both Amazon and Goodreads but couldn’t find it so I’m assuming it is yet to be published on either of those sites. I did however, contacted the author to know more about that, but she is yet to reply.

I was given a blurb along with this book and I just wanted to let it be known that the blurb gave nothing away and wasn’t even close to what I would’ve expected when reading the book.

The heroine is working in an ice cream truck which her father owns in order to pay for his hospital bills. She is also putting her self through college and has her own blog where she hides her identity and writes about her everyday life.

On a normal day, after closing her ice cream truck and heading to another location she was hijacked by the hero who was hiding out in her truck.

The hero is what I like to call a multitasker. He owns a restaurant, runs a biker club and he’s a boxer. He stole some precious gems from a rivalry and the only escape he could’ve find was through the ice cream truck. He had no intentions of harming the heroine and came up with a plan in which they both could benefit from.

He proposed that he use her ice cream truck as a front to sell off the precious gems and at the same time he would pay her generously. The heroine agrees but proposed that she writes everything that happens between the two of them on her blog; anonymously of course.

So what might happen when you put two attractive people in a hot, small ice cream truck? You’ll have to read that to know.

I love the heroine’s personality and her willingness to do whatever it took to take care of her father. I also like that she stood up to the hero and his biker buddies and wasn’t some doormat.

The hero was this teddy bear on the inside but a bad boy on the outside. He felt things for the heroine that he knew a man in his position shouldn’t. He would always have to put on this act infront of his club members when it came to the heroine and that was the only trait the hero has which didn’t really sat well with me. You would also get to feel what he felt everytime he had to put on an act since the book was written in dual point of view.

You would also get the meet the hero’s psycho girlfriend, who I totally hated and wanted nothing more than to bash her head into the wall. She was so conniving and uses men for her own personal gain. I couldn’t believe that the hero had went out with a person like her.

Tempted By The Devil (Highway Titans MC)

Tempted By The Devil (Highway Titans MC) By Cora Black

I joined Cora Black’s ARC team and would receive her books about a week or so before it comes out. Usually I don’t like giving bad reviews on books but this is the second book I’ve read from this author that was not my style.

I DNF this book about 60% in and that’s saying something becuase I would force myself to read a book which was given to me in an arc to get the whole picture of the storyline. For some reason I just couldn’t finish. This book was given to me on the 23rd October and it took me from then to now to call it quits. Any other author who I did a ARC for would know I usually take about 2-3 days to read their book and have the review up. So this one was taking too long.
I’m just going to put the blurb of the book down below because it is now available on Amazon and if you want you can give it a try and see if any of you like it. Leave a comment below if you read it and like it.

HE WAS SEXY AS SIN AND AS HOT AS THE DEVIL. HOW COULD I REFUSE?

Charlotte

It was a simple job, if an unusual one: get the nephew of an outlaw king to start giving a damn about his life again.

I’ve tackled harder. I’ve done worse. This was going to be a cake walk.

At least, that’s what I thought.

Then Ben Wiseman walked in, and everything changed.

Before I know it, I’m drowning in emotions I’ve never felt before.

Lust. Longing. And oh God, I hope it isn’t…

Love?

I’m in far, far too deep. I’m just praying I make it out alive.
Ben

What the hell’s the point? I don’t want any of this.

The drugs, the guns, the women.

Let someone else take over the Highway Titans MC. I just don’t care.

But my uncle is relentless. He’s tried everything to get me to follow in his footsteps.

Now, he’s down to his last straw.

And damn, what a straw that is.

Charlotte steps foot inside the clubhouse and my world kicks into a whole new gear.

I want her like I’ve never wanted anything.

I want to run my tongue between her legs, to make her moan ’til the rafters shake.

And I’m going to have her, even though she’s the last woman on earth I belong with.

It doesn’t matter what’s right and what’s wrong.
There’s no denying the call when you’re tempted by the devil.

TEMPTED BY THE DEVIL is a full-length, standalone romance novel with steamy hot sex, strong language, a happily every after ending, and NO CLIFFHANGERS. Contains dark and disturbing themes, and over-the-top sexiness that may be uncomfortable for some readers.

Perfect for fans of Sam Crescent, Jenika Snow, L Wilder, Sabrina Paige, Lauren Landish, Vanessa Waltz, Jordan Marie, and Nicole Snow.

Filthy Kisses (Back Down Devil MC #12)

Filthy Kisses (Back Down Devil MC #12) By London Casey

With Halloween coming up I am pretty busy these past couple days (I DIY both my decor and costume) and it made me felt as though I was not having anytime for my blogs. I really need to prioritize my time and set aside atleast 15minutes a day for my reviews. Anyways enough with my excuses let me get to my review.

I had conflicted feelings when reading this book. I don’t know whether I liked it or hated it.

I can honestly say that I hated the beginning. It was written grammatically correct and everything, but I don’t like books that make you feel as if you are missing a big part of the storyline. Yes, it is book 12 of this series and no, I did  not read any of the previous books but to my understanding, this book could have been read as a standalone. But to me that was not the case for the beginning.

The book involves the hero being apart of an MC and the heroine is already about 9 months pregnant with his baby. The heroine wants nothing to do with the MC life and she loathes it to the point where she demands the hero to keep her and the baby a secret from his MC. She has her motives on why she doesn’t like any MC. The hero disagrees with her but he wants to be apart of his baby’s life so he goes along with her plan. They both live in the same house and have an “arrangement” like friends with benefit but not so much as friends and the hero is not monogamous. The hero is set up by someone for murder and placed in prison, he was then forced to tell his MC about the heroine and the baby. Only he was a little too late, because the minute the heroine heard he was in jail for murder she packed up and left.

The heroine irritated me to the point where I was going to give up on reading this book with her indecision. She likes the hero but then she don’t becuase of the MC. She doesn’t want the MC type of life for her kid but then ends up leaning on the  MC for help. If I was a guy and my baby mama was like this heroine, I would dread being with her. Like if you hate the MC life so much why sleep with a biker?

The hero was very down to earth. I loved that he was willing to give up his life in the MC and put up with that idot of a boss at the mechanic shop just for a life with his kid. Also he lied to the MC which is a big no no in the biker world and took a beaten when they found out. Any man who would do whatever it takes to be with his child, is in my good graces. I put them so high up on a pedestal. The only thing I hated with ther hero was that he was not monogamous at the beginning but like I said they had an arrangement.

There wasn’t much chemistry between the hero and the heroine. I thought that their relationship was forced on them becuase of the baby and not because they want to be apart of each other’s life.

Aside form all of that the book wa an okayish read.

Slam Her

Slam Her By Jaxson Kidman

It’s been a long time since I read a MC book so when I came across this book I was happy to give it a try.

This book however was not my ideal biker book that I would read. Yes, it had many traits that a typical MC would have but somehow it fell short somewhere along the line.

The MC felt like a child’s play and was very unrealistic. There was a dual point of view and there are also flash backs throughout the book.

I hated the cocky attitude of the hero and the fact that during his pursue of the heroine, he was sleeping with other women. And who the hell likes the name Slam?

The hero just got out of jail, which he was wrongfully put in because he was set up by the sherif. The sherif had it out for him since he was young because the hero did not want to go down the path the sherif set out for him. In order to get revenge, the hero plans to make the sherif’s daughter fall for him, get her pregnant, then leave her.

The heroine is what you would call an unicorn, she’s almost hitting 30 and still a virgin. This she blames this on her over protective father. When she meets the hero, she was more than ready to give it up. Making her an easy target for the hero and his revenge.

Does the hero goes through with his plan? Does the heroine ends up pregnant? Does the heroine finds out the truth about her realtionship with the hero?  And does she leaves him? What about the sherif, her father, how does he take the news about their realtionship?

If you want to know what happens next you have to read the book.

Stolen: Hell’s Overlords MC

Stolen: Hell’s Overlords MC By Zoey Parker

Recently, I can’t seem to find a perfect MC book to read. I am a sucker for a bad boy hero but I don’t think the hero in this book can be considered a bad boy.

The book starts off with the heroine stealing drugs from the hero’s MC. She is a professional thief and was never caught, that is till the day the hero set a trap to capture the thief. The hero is the MC’s president and the last person he expected to be stealing from him is a woman.

Both the hero and the heroine, decided to play each other to get information but feelings got mixed up, lies and betrayal were exposed and the story goes on.

I like a strong heroine but this heroine was not for me. She is quick to use sex to get what she want and that doesn’t sit well with me. Also she’s very stupid and after she do something, then she thinks about the consequences.

The hero was a sissy. Never have I ever read a MC book where the hero was afraid to shoot or could not find himself pulling the trigger. Also members of a MC do not rely on the words of one woman. Obviously the woman who was stealing for you couple hours ago will also lie to you.

And since when do MC president leave the MC behind of a couple of days just to sleep with some woman who would just betray him? I don’t know but this book did not feel like what an MC book should read like.
