Burn (Elemental Hearts #1) By Jayelle Morgan
I want to start this review off by thanking M.T. Munson Creating Worlds with Words for recommending this book to me. Please check her!! She is a fabulous author and a great reviewer.
In my previous post, I did a cry for help in finding a good book to read and I am happy to say that this book gave me hope that there are a vast amount of good books yet to be read.
This is a beautifully written paranormal romance book and hats off to the author. The heroine was a normal girl who never gave a second thought about any paranormal beings. She had just gotten promoted to her dream job and everything in life was perfect for her. Until she met the hero.
She met the hero at her post office and there is an instant connection between them. I love how the author expresses their connection and the conversation was very witty but funny when they first met.
The hero is an alien warrior who saves earth daily with out the humans knowing. He works with a team who can control the various elements and his speciality was fire and for some reason he had troubles with controlling his element.
On the day that they met, the heroine’s apartment went up in flames and the hero was compelled to help her because of their connection. She woke in the hospital with vivid memories of the hero saving her and walking through the fire without being hurt. So she did what any sensible person would do when working for the newspaper, put a sketch of his face in it.
Though the hero couldn’t get her out of his head for days after the fire, he had no reason to contact her because of who he was. So when his commander tells him to make her stop putting his face in the newspaper because of their fear of being discovered, he was more than happy to do so.
On the day he showed up at her door however, he realized that she was in much danger than the fire.
What happens after? Did he caused the fire in her apartment? Does she finds out about who he really is? What was her reaction? You have to read this book to find out!!
I enjoyed reading this book and there was not a part that I hated. There is a book 2 called Rise and is set to be released on January 30th, 2017 and I am definitely adding it to my wish list.
